WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 Official Vlogger Contest Announced

On July 15, together with the United Nations the WorldSkills International movement will announce a video contest dedicated to the World Youth Skills Day. The winner will become the official vlogger for the WorldSkills Abu-Dhabi 2017 and will travel to the capital of the United Arab Emirates in October this year.

Every year the WorldSkills International movement together with the member countries and their partners supports the UN initiative on expanding professional development opportunities of young people and the idea of equality between representatives of different vocational occupations of all genders, age and nations with the help of the #SkillsForAll initiative.

Submit a 2-minute video in English about your success story or tell what inspires you in the world of skilled jobs. Tell us how skills development has helped you to build a career and influenced your character as well as professional success.

Publish this video on your Facebook, Instagram or Twitter page with #SkillsForAll hashtag or fill in the submission form. You are allowed to publish an unlimited number of videos until the end of the application period, which is July 9, 2017. After the video is considered and approved you will automatically become a contest participant. All videos will be published on the WorldSkills Facebook page.

The official vlogger for the WorldSkills Abu-Dhabi 2017 will travel to Abu-Dhabi and get exclusive access to the event and backstage. This will allow him or her to capture the best moments of the largest skills competitions and share information by making short videos and uploading them to the WorldSkills International social media platforms.

The candidate for the official vlogger must be available to be in Abu Dhabi from 10-21 October 2017. WorldSkills will cover your flight, hotel accommodation, ground transportation, media accreditation and meals.

«The competition is open to all supporters of the #SkillsForAll initiative, you do not have to be a professional camera operator or have some brand new equipment. Just a phone with a camera and an interesting idea can earn you a trip to the Middle East! We are looking for creative people who are comfortable with being in front of the camera,” says the official source.  Check your audio and lighting before to make the video. Go on location. Find cool spots to capture your story.

World Youth Skills Day is celebrated annually on July 15. The United Nations, at its General Assembly in November 2014, declared 15 July as World Youth Skills Day. The World Youth Skills Day aims to remind of the young professionals’ role in the promotion of sustainable development and need for investments in health, education and employment of young people.
